Jung SuWon Testing

Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim hosted another incredible event at her Jung SuWon Martial Art Academy.  We had a testing a few days ago, and it was phenomenal!

At Jung Suwon, Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim provides an environment for children (and adults) to simply be themselves, and to learn who they really are, and what their strengths and weaknesses are.  It was simply heartwarming, and so touching, to hear these youngsters express themselves.  One young lady, about 12 years old, said that at school she gets teased a lot, but at Jung Suwon everyone accepts her as she is, and that she has learned, through Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim, to accept herself as well, and not always wish to be like someone else.

Another student mentioned that Jung SuWon is like a second home to him.  It is his “safety zone” and a place where he doesn’t get bullied, criticized, or hurt.

Another said that before training at Jung Suwon, him and his brother used to fight a lot, and give each other bruises, and that they would play video games for many hours and late into the night, but that now they don’t fight anymore, and only play videogames for a little bit.

It was also wonderful to see their “Cand DO” spirit and to never want to give up.  When they couldn’t do a technique during a breaking, they didn’t want to stop.  They were determined to keep going until they got it right, no matter what.  Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim tends to have that effect in people. She brings out the best in them.  She says, I am not giving you anything that you don’t already have.  I am only helping you bring out the best in you!

  1. I watched Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim conduct the student testing, and it was really motivating to see people overcoming fears, building courage, building confidence, and setting new goals and dreams for themselves. He Can Do, She Can Do, Why Not Me!!
