Forms at Jung Suwon

At Jung Suwon, forms are serious business.  Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim will not put up with just pretty movements that only look good and don’t have any purpose.  Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s teachings are not about cage fighting and who can dominate whom.  At Jung Suwon, you will get well rounded training of body, mind, and spirit, with a purpose, that includes forms.

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim calls them “moving meditation” and “sparring with your silent partner.”  During forms, Great Grandmaster Kim encourages us to give it our all – we don’t have to worry about hitting anyone, or getting hit.  We can and should go full force!

Sometimes Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim even has us break boards while executing forms, to make sure we use proper power and technique.

And sometimes a Jung Suwon student that does a particularly great job performing a form, gets to demonstrate.

I love forms so much, because that is something I can keep doing, even on coumadin!  I can practice my forms at Jung Suwon and at home, and I can apply full force and as much as I want!
